Those who are too old and those who are too young are often excluded from academic discourses on subjectivity. The subject appears to be ageless, but implicitly is always ofage and not yet retired. When, for instance, Gender Studies question the heteronormativity of a social practice, they (often) omit that their analyses concentrate on a specific age group.
