In particular, we seek papers that position gender at the intersection of race, ethnicity, sexuality, age, class, disability, region, religion, community, citizenship and\/or nationality.  We also welcome discussions that situate the field at the leading edge of social activism.<\/p>\n<p>Questions to consider include: To what extent have intersectional approaches had an impact on feminist historical scholarship? Where have women\u2019s and gender historians engaged most fruitfully with theoretical tensions and innovations in the field? What is the link between activism, scholarship, and community-based feminist projects? How have scholars in gender and women\u2019s history situated themselves within a transnational and\/or international context? What is the role of feminist pedagogy in women\u2019s and gender studies classrooms? What is the role and influence of feminist theory in public history environments? How can women\u2019s and gender historians better <!--more-->disseminate their findings to wider audiences? How has women\u2019s and gender history contributed to methodological innovation in the discipline of history?<\/p>\n<p>Seeking to be as inclusive as possible, we encourage paper or panel proposals to be submitted in either English or French, and we welcome proposals from a diversity of individuals concerned with women\u2019s and gender history, including graduate students, junior and senior scholars, independent scholars, public historians, authors, artists, archivists, and local and community historians. We also invite feminist activists to present critical reflections on the past or future directions of their organizations and activities.<\/p>\n<p>Full panel proposals are preferred, although individual papers will also be considered. To apply as a panel, please submit a title and abstract of the panel session (2 pages maximum), including the names of the chair and each of the panel members as well as a 250-word biography or one-page CV for each participant.  To submit individual proposals, please provide a paper title and an abstract of no more than 250 words, along with a 250-word biography or one-page CV.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals must be received by<strong> August 24, 2009<\/strong>. Nous encourageons \u00e9galement des analyses qui placent le domaine au front de l\u2019activisme social.<\/p>\n<p>Les questions \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer incluent : Dans quelle mesure les approches interdisciplinaires ont-elles fait progresser les recherches historiques f\u00e9ministes ? En quoi les historiennes et historiens femmes et\/ou du genre ont-ils contribu\u00e9 de la fa\u00e7on la plus fructueuse aux d\u00e9bats et aux innovations th\u00e9oriques en histoire ? Quels sont les liens entre les th\u00e9ories f\u00e9ministes, l\u2019activisme et les projets f\u00e9ministes communautaires? Comment les sp\u00e9cialistes de l\u2019histoire de la condition f\u00e9minine se sont-elles positionn\u00e9es dans le contexte transnational et\/ou international? Quel est le r\u00f4le de la p\u00e9dagogie f\u00e9ministe dans les cours portant sur le genre et\/ou les femmes ? Quels sont le r\u00f4le et l\u2019influence des th\u00e9ories f\u00e9ministes dans la pratique de l\u2019histoire publique ?
