During the First World War, soldiers of belligerent armies also perpetrated sexual violence, often against noncombatant civilians. Furthermore, instances of sexual violence were often part of a broader range of wartime atrocities, including looting, internment, forced labour and executions. As such, comprehending the full scope of sexual violence in the context of war requires a multifaceted understanding of the underlying complexities and functions of wartime aggression. The zoom link will also be emailed upon request.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forscher*innengruppe zum Thema \u201eSexuelle Gewalt im Ersten Weltkrieg\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Die Forscher*innengruppe zum Thema \u201eSexuelle Gewalt im Ersten Weltkrieg\u201c geht davon aus, dass unterschiedliche Formen sexueller Gewalt auch im 20. Jhd. jegliche Kriegshandlungen begleiteten \u2013 was fu\u0308r \u00d6sterreich-Ungarn und die Operationsr\u00e4ume der k. u. k. Armee bislang jedoch kaum untersucht wurde. Daher hat sich die Forscher*innengruppe zum Ziel gesetzt, in einem ersten Schritt dafu\u0308r m\u00f6glicherweise ergiebige Quellenbest\u00e4nde zu recherchieren und auf deren Basis Vorarbeiten fu\u0308r ein einschl\u00e4giges Forschungsprojekt zu leisten. Auf der Agenda stehen zun\u00e4chst Milit\u00e4rgerichtsakten und Selbstzeugnisse, und damit ganz generell auch Fragen nach der Un\/Sichtbarkeit sexueller Gewalt in solchen Quellen. Best\u00e4tigt sich auch am Beispiel \u00d6sterreich-Ungarns, dass sexuelle Gewalt (insbesondere gegen Frauen) in kriegerischen Konflikten strategische Funktionen haben konnte? Also nicht zuletzt auch eine Art von \u201aWaffe\u2019 im Kontext einer totalisierten Kriegsfu\u0308hrung war? Kam es im Zuge der Gewalteskalationen des Ersten Weltkrieges zu geh\u00e4uften sexuellen \u00dcbergriffen?
