***Invitation***
The European Platform of Women Scientists (EPWS) cordially invites you to its Annual Conference 2009 „Scientific Culture, Communication, Gender – An Innovative Challenge for Women Scientists„, organised in collaboration with Belgian Women in Science – BeWiSe, in Brussels, Belgium, on 25-26 June 2009.
The conference aims at informing about core issues of scientific culture and communication and equipping participants with basic knowledge regarding their implementation in the running of networks. To this regard two training seminars on “Management of Networks” and “Access to Funding” will be offered. The goal is to provide an overview on the variety of communication skills and tools in science and research, including the management of networks; to encourage women scientists to join the – so far male dominated – ranks of those active in the field; to actively communicate and promote their research results using their specific communication abilities and making full use of their potential in this respect. SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
Why Gender? Conference 2009 University of Jyväskylä 9th-10th of October 2009
Call for Papers, deadline April 15th, 2009
The conference entitled „Why Gender?“ aims to bring together both Finnish and international scholars from a number of different disciplines to participate in intellectual discussion regarding future directions gender theory could take. The conference is conceived as a starting point for future networking on this topic. The continued importance of gender as a social category in the late modern world prompts us to ask the oft-forgotten question: why? As researchers in the

The conference organizers would like to see more theoretical work on gender Continue reading
