In the beginning of june 2021, the DFG-funded research group “Law – Gender – Collectivity. Processes of standardization, categorization and generating solidarity” is inviting to an interdisciplinary conference. Against the backdrop of law playing a pivotal role in current political conflicts of belonging and participation the conference will focus on the relationship between law, gender, and collectivity.
The conference will discuss questions of the efficacy of gendered collectivity in a hegemonic male-oriented and hetero-normative tradition of civil law. Thereby we explore current social conflicts and how they manifest themselves by analysing them as legally shaped and, at the same time, gendered collectivization processes.
