The conference interrogates the meanings and uses/abuses of ‚happiness‘ and the power of pleasure through a gendered/intersectional lens from interdisciplinary perspectives, for example, gender studies, social sciences, development studies, literature, film, media, history, philosophy, health studies, law, education etc. It wants to encourage a discussion of happiness in a positive sense, for example exploring the importance of happiness and pleasure in individual gendered lives.
