Kollektiv Frauen*projekte (Web)

Die Frauenprojekte gibt es einerseits um der (sozialen) Selektion an und durch Universitäten entgegenzuwirken — von der nach wie vor überwiegend Frauen und Menschen mit nicht-österreichischer Staatsbürger_innenschaft betroffen sind. Andererseits sollen Student_innen beim Abschluss ihres Studiums und dem Überwinden der damit verbundenen Hürde des wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens unterstützt werden.

Aus diesem Grund haben die (ehemaligen) Fakultätsvertretungen der Human- und Sozialwissenschaften (H.u.S.) und der Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften (GEWI) der Uni Wien vor mittlerweile über 10 Jahren ein Projekt ins Leben gerufen, das dazu unabhängig von den Launen von Politik, Ministerium und der (meist männlichen) Unileitung beitragen will. This CFP seeks papers for a panel on reproduction and genetics/eugenics for the Western Association of Women Historians 2013 conference to be helt in Portland, Oregon, on May 16-18, 2013. Adam Turner’s paper examines how genetic counseling clients in the mid-twentieth century United States (primarily women) shaped the developing field of genetic counseling to explore the assumptions and expectations that influenced the ways parents and counselors approached decisions about reproduction. The Consortium on the Revolutionary Era, 1750-1850 (CRE) provides a venue for the presentation of original research on not only the history of Europe during the age of revolution, but also the Atlantic world and beyond. We are soliciting panel/paper proposals treating any aspect of history, literature, or art or music history on the period from 1750 to 1850. We also welcome proposals from allied disciplines and comparative studies. In short, we offer a platform for research into the revolutionary era broadly defined. The theme of the annual meeting is “The Cultures and Institutions of Business.” We are interested in all topics embracing the culture of business and the business of culture.
