KvinnSam – National resource library for gender studies at the Gothenburg University Library – Website in Swedish and English
In 2009 it was 150 years since the start of the periodical Tidskrift för hemmet (Home Journal). Here you can read more about that and about other historical Swedish Periodicals for Women from the 19th century and the turn of the century 1900.
The aim of this website is for the KvinnSam, to make available Historical Swedish periodicals for women and its history. In the History section you can read about the emergence of publications for women in Europe and above all in Sweden. Starting from the 18th century with the so-called Fruntimmerstidskrifterna (Ladie’s magazines) up until the 19th and 20th centuries women’s periodicals. The Biographies section portrays prominent women (and some men) who worked with the press. Both writers and editors are presented here.
