Why do emotions matter? Scholars from manifold disciplines dedicate their research to this question. Focusing on the Humanities the research of emotions has become a widely expanding and highly productive subfield. In the last decade a variety of different approaches has been developed. The workshop seeks to bring together positions elaborated in History and Sociology in order to initialise an interdisciplinary dialogue. As disciplines of the Social Sciences, both History and Sociology are deeply interconnected.
