Berkshire Conference on Women’s History, Toronto, Canada, May 22-25, 2014, Website
Call for panelists from Mary Klann: We are seeking 1-2 papers for a Berks Conference (Toronto, May 2014) panel on visual representations of gender and race (in television, popular culture, or other materials). So far we have one panelist who is working on the politics of televisual representations of black womanhood in the United States in the 1960s-1970s and one panelist who is working on how Native American women and children engaged with their images used in the tourism industry in the early to mid-twentieth century American West.
We are interested in any time period or region (does not have to be US).
If you are interested, please contact us off-list at: mklann@ucsd.edu or kflach@ucsd.edu.
