CfPanalists: Second Wave Feminism Panel

Hi All: We are seeking a third panelist for a panel on second wave feminism to be proposed for the Berks. We have one paper on tensions among generations of feminists in second wave English Canadian feminism, particularly relating to issues of domestic and paid work (Lynne Marks, History, University of Victoria and Margaret Little, Politics and Women’s Studies, Queen’s University) and another paper on generations of feminism in Italy and/or Yugoslavia in post 1945 feminism by Chiara Bonfiglioli, (Department of Media and Cultural Studies, Utrecht University)

We are looking for a third paper on second wave feminism, preferably not from Canada, Italy or Yugoslavia. If it dealt in some way with generations within the second wave women’s movement, that would be great, but any paper on second wave feminism would be fine.

We are also seeking a chair and commentator for this session.

If you are interested, please email me at LSMARKS@uvic.ca.

Thanks very much,

CfPanalists: Same-Sex Relationships in 20th Century

Alison Oram and I are trying to put together a panel on concepts of/discourses about female same-sex relationships in the early to mid C20th for the Berkshire Women’s History Conference next year (2011). We have 2 papers so far, both about the UK, one on the interwar period and one on the 1950s. Ideally we’d be interested in another paper that would open up this panel in the direction of other national perspectives. We are also looking for people interested in chairing or commenting. Please contact me at the email address below if you are interested in participating.
Many thanks. Apologies if you see this more than once due to cross-posting to relevant lists.

CfPanalists: Women and Corporate Culture

We are seeking a chair for a panel on women and corporate culture in the United States, 1970s-1990s, for the 2011 Berks. We already have three papers and a commenter. Our papers include a history of the „mommy track“ debates (Elizabeth More, Harvard University), a discussion of secretarial and clerical workers in corporate and popular culture (Allison Elias, University of Virginia), and an examination of the experiences of female managers at Boeing (Polly Myers, University of Minnesota). Jennifer Scanlon (Bowdoin College) has generously agreed to give the comment.

If you are interested, please contact Elizabeth More at more@fas.harvard.edu or Allison Elias at ale7c@virginia.edu.

Thank you very much,

Elizabeth More
