CfP: Where is feminism in Europe today? June 2008, Poland

Einreichefrist: 10. September 2007

WIDE is calling for authors for three reflection papers on ‘feminism today in Western, Eastern and Central Europe’, to be produced as part of WIDE’s contribution to the European Feminist Forum (EFF) process. The EFF is a space for discussion on how to re-politicise the feminist movement in Europe and to explore feminist agendas needed in today’s Europe. The papers should contribute to triggering discussion on feminism in Europe in the process leading up to the EFF face-to-face meeting in June 2008 in Poland. The EFF meeting is aimed to launch renewed feminist political engagement all around Europe.

The papers should respond to the question ‘Where is feminism in Europe today?’ respectively from the following view points:
1. What does mainstream politics offer to feminism in Europe today?
2. Feminism in Europe today from the point of view of engagement in social movements.
3. Feminism in Europe today from the point of view of engagement in political research and analysis.

The papers should be around 3,000 words in length and must be written in English in a style accessible to a general audience. WIDE is able to offer a small honorarium of 750 euro per paper. The deadline for the submission of papers is 10 September 2007.

If you are interested in this call please send a short abstract of around 250 words to nerea[at]wide-network.org. The selection of authors will be made from mid-June onwards, based on the abstracts. Only the selected authors will be contacted by WIDE, by June 22.
