H-Women, H-Net’s (Web) network for women’s history
H-Women seeks to recruit an energetic team of editors to help revive the reviews program for one of H-Net’s largest networks. H-Net Reviews has built a strong reputation for scholarly reviews over the last twenty years, taking advantage of the flexibility and relative speed of online publication while maintaining the highest scholarly standards.
Review editors at H-Women solicit and edit reviews of recently published books in women’s history and related fields. Possible additional areas of review coverage could include conferences, educational and documentary films, teaching materials, or textbooks. H-Net handles all book ordering and mailing, and we have professional copyeditors on staff who help to ensure that all reviews adhere to H-Net’s standards and guidelines for reviewing.
Qualifications: Graduate degree or equivalent in any area of women’s history or related field. Review editors are trained to use the online reviews management system and serve for two-year renewable terms. All editors must be certified by the H-Net Council. Learn more about the certification process here.
