Proposals by: 15.05.2021

Confero is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed open access journal focusing on issues related to education and social critique. The journal provides a space for essayistic writing and especially encourages discussions of philosophical and political nature.

The editors now welcome submissions of essays that deal with issues related to the broad scope of the journal i.e. education and social critique. Contributions from scholars with various disciplinary backgrounds are welcome to debate issues in relation to educational systems and politics, as well as everyday experiences of the different practices of education. Confero publishes essays related to education written from various academic traditions for example gender studies, literature, history, social psychology and sociology.

During the last couple of years Confero has published articles and special issues on some of the following themes: power asymmetries in different educational settings and arenas, political mobilization in adult education, school bullying, queer studies of education, Saomi education, emotions and education as well as critical perspectives on measurability in education. Contributions for this open call for papers may be inspired by but should not be limited to these topics.

Confero is an open access journal available for free to people engaged in social science research as well as a wider intellectual public. All the submissions, that potentially will possess the high quality required for publication, will go through a process of double-blind peer-review. The journal is hosted by the publisher Linköping University Electronic Press at Linköping University, Sweden. A first draft of the essay should be submitted through this link before 15 May 2021.

Notes for Contributors: The submission language is English. Contributions from non-Scandinavian and non-English-speaking countries are particularly welcomed. The editors encourage authors to use the APA referencing system. To give the essay form and improve its readability, we ask that the essay has a clearly defined topic or theme that is laid out in the introduction of the piece. The editors also encourage the writer to divide the text into sections, using headings to promote its readability. Authors are encouraged to refrain from self-references. The text should be proofread before submission. Contributions within the scope of the journal and potentially possessing the qualities for publication will be sent out for peer-review.
