Tricky Women ist das erste und einzige Animationsfilmfestival, das sich speziell der Trickfilmkunst von Frauen widmet. Eingereicht werden können Animationen, die von Frauen realisiert, in den Jahren 2011 oder 2012 fertig gestellt wurden.
Preise:

  • Tricky Women Preis der Stadt Wien dotiert mit 4.000,- Euro
  • 3-monatiges Arbeitsstipendium des Artist-in-Residence Programms im quartier21/MQ
  • Synchro Film & Video Materialpreis im Wert von € 1.500,-
  • Sawczynski-Preis dotiert mit € 1.000,-
  • Sielecki Preis dotiert mit € 750,- für einen österreichischen Animationsfilm
  • Tricky Women Publikumspreis

Die Preise bzw. Preisgelder gehen an die Regisseurinnen der Filme.
Darüber hinaus suchen wir Animationsfilme zum Themenschwerpunkt „Verteilungsgerechtigkeit“. Eine Auswahl der Filme zeigen wir in einem oder mehreren Spezialprogrammen am Festival. Wir freuen uns auch über ältere Filme! Filme aus 2011 und 2012 zum Thema können auch am Wettbewerb teilnehmen.

Tricky Women is the first and only festival of animated film that is dedicated exclusively to animation by women.
The festival offers an international competition of animated short films realized by female artists and produced in 2011 or 2012. The 10th edition of Tricky Women will take place in Vienna 6th – 10th March, 2013. The deadline for applications for the preliminary selection is October 19th, 2012.
Awards:

  • Tricky Women Award of the City of Vienna worth 4,000 Euro
  • 3-month scholarship to live and work at quartier21/MQ under the Artist-in-Residence Program
  • Synchro Film & Video Material Prize worth 1,500 Euro
  • Sawczynski-Award worth 1,000 Euro
  • Sielecki-Award worth 750 Euro (for Austrian animation)
  • Tricky Women Audience Award

Awards and prize monies will go to the directresses of the films!
In addition to the competition we are also looking for animated films dealing with issues of ”distributive justice”. A selection of these films will be shown in one or more special programmes at the festival. Older films may be submitted as well! Films from 2011 or 2012 may also be entered for the competition.
