This interdisciplinary conference explores the intersections of migration, gender, and generation from historical and contemporary viewpoints. It addresses migrant experiences across time, focusing on women’s roles, intergenerational dynamics, and the ways migration shapes identity, belonging, and cultural memory. Key themes include historical and present-day migration experiences, the challenges faced by migrant women, transnational family dynamics, and the musealisation of migration narratives. Workshops and panels will also highlight participatory museum practices, digital heritage, and artistic storytelling as tools to engage with migration histories.
The event offers a platform for scholars, museum professionals and cultural practitioners to exchange research and innovative approaches in migration studies, gender analysis, and museum work.
