The conference goals are to analyse and summarize the quantity and quality of gender studies and gender research in Baltic region, also to identify common European tendencies in gender research and the regional peculiarity. Lithuanian Women Movement is celebrating 100th anniversary of the 1st Women Congress. This event will give the opportunity to evaluate and analyse gender problems in the region of Baltic Sea.

Conference topics:
• Gender, stereotypes and identity;
• Power, policy and emancipation;
• Methodological and theoretical aspects of gender studies;
• Gender and social problems;
• Women movements and NGO;
• Sexual minorities: theory and reality;
• Gender and consumptions culture

Recommendations to presenters
Duration of the presentation: 15-20 min.
Equipment: it will be a possibility to use computer and projector during the presentation.

Conference working languages are English, Russian and Lithuanian. The paper language – is English.

Conference proceedings will be published in CD format (with ISBN) and included in the international databases. The best papers will be published in the reviewed scientific periodical journal Gender Studies and Research (Siauliai University).

Conference fee: 100 Lt (30 Euro)
It includes expenses of conference organization (participant’s portfolio, two coffee breaks, conference material in CD form and reception at November 29).
Conference fee will be paid during the registration. Invoices will be provided upon request.

Abstract Format & Submission
Participants wishing to present papers are invited to submit an abstract.
1. Suggested abstract length is no more than 4000 words.
2.The abstract would begin with:
– Title of the paper;
– Authors’ names in direct order (e.g., John Smith);
– Affiliations;
– Postal addresses.
3. In the abstract: research issue, research goal, applied methods, also the main results of the theoretical and empirical analysis should be indicated.
4. Body text (Times New Roman 12 point, paragraph single).
